A Little Bit About Dr. Becca
What/Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
I was inspired to become a Pelvic Health Physical Therapist by my patients. I originally began my career as a physical therapist with a focus on sports and orthopedics, largely influenced by my own experiences as an athlete who benefited from PT after various injuries. While working in orthopedics, I had the privilege of helping many women through their pregnancy and postpartum journeys. However, I often felt that something was missing in my ability to provide truly comprehensive care.
I've always been fascinated by the human body, and the pelvic floor is an integral part of it. After taking my first Pelvic Rehabilitation course, I was captivated by the specialty and realized how much of an impact pelvic health has on a person's quality of life. From that point on, I began pursuing advanced training and coursework in pelvic rehabilitation. Today, I feel incredibly fortunate to help people navigate some of the most important and vulnerable stages of their lives while empowering them to live out an active, confident, and comfortable life.
What TV/book are you currently into?
I’m currently reading “Birth Vibes: Stories and Strategies for an Empowered Birth” by Jen Hamilton, and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying it. The book strikes a wonderful balance between practical education, humor, and emotional support. Rather than focusing solely on creating the “perfect” birth plan, it encourages expectant parents to prioritize the experience they want to have—feeling informed, respected, supported, and empowered—even when birth unfolds differently than expected. I highly recommend it to anyone preparing for birth or looking to approach the experience with more knowledge and greater confidence.
As far as TV, I’m always into my Bravo shows like The Real Housewives and Summer House. Some other series I’ve enjoyed this year are The Pitt and Your Friends and Neighbors. And usually at least once a year, my husband and I do a rewatch of one of our favorite comfort shows, New Girl.
What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
This talent is not so secret, but it’s probably the only “cool” talent that I have. I can sing like Shakira. Wish I could dance like her too!
What’s the best vacation/travel memory you’ve ever had?
One of my favorite travel memories is our honeymoon in Thailand. I loved experiencing the country's rich history and vibrant culture, from exploring beautiful temples to enjoying all the delicious food. We visited several temples, national parks, an elephant sanctuary, and ended our trip on one of Thailand’s stunning islands. It was the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation, allowing us to immerse ourselves in new experiences while also taking time to unwind and enjoy newlywed life. The people, food, culture, and natural beauty made it a truly unforgettable trip!
Is there something that has made you laugh/smile recently?
My daughter and cat make me laugh and smile every day! They both have big personalities and seem to take turns keeping life interesting. Whether it’s my daughter saying something unexpectedly funny, or my cat finding a rare quiet moment to snuggle together on the couch, there’s never a dull moment in our house. Watching their antics and seeing the world through my daughter’s eyes is a daily reminder not to take life too seriously and to find joy in the little things.
What do you want clients to understand about your care as a Pelvic PT?
I want my clients to know that they will always be met with compassion and understanding in my care. Pelvic health concerns can feel deeply personal, vulnerable, and sometimes even isolating, but they are never something you need to navigate alone. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to ask questions and share your experiences without judgment.
